21WindmillMuseum

This week in flux…

…we talked about getting naked–in front of  kids. Is it good for body image, or is it inappropriate?

…in keeping with my love of quirky places, I took you with me to a windmill museum.

…the magazine junkie in me led me to share a few black magazines from around the world.

HERE’S WHAT YOU HAD TO SAY…

…on wearing your birthday suit:

I love this. I think Americans are so weird about nudity for any purpose that’s not male arousal. (Nudity FOR male arousal is perfectly fine, all the time, no matter what.) My mom was naked all the time when I was little, but she had two daughters so that may have been the reason. It never occurred to me that I’d need to cover up because I had a kid until recently. (I don’t have a kid yet, but this topic has been thrust into my consciousness a few times here lately.)

Good to read your thoughts on it! | Whitney

…and a sweet, adventurous reader left this comment on the Facebook page:

Hi Tatiana! I’ve been following your blog for the past and your post on moving for love is what drew me to your site. Like you, I’m an American woman who fell in love with an amazing German man on work assignment. We are currently planning my move across the pond to a small town in the Black Forest to continue our lives together. Decisions like this are never easy to make, but I can’t help but think I’m making the right choice when I think about what I’m gaining instead of losing. I appreciate your blog and the others you have recommended for the raw and honest views associated with making such a big move. Thank you so much for sharing your life and I’m looking forward to reading more! Tschüss! | Ashley

One of the best things about the web is the ability to connect with amazing people. Whitney’s one of the first really cool women I met online, and as usual, her take on this subject is intelligent and insightful. And of course, I love to hear stories like Ashley’s. Partly because it mirrors my own, but also because I love women who make bold choices. Good luck, Ashley!

As always, if you know anyone who’d like anything here, please share it with them! Thank you so much for reading and have a fun, safe weekend.

Tat
