A few weeks ago, The Man and I attended the wedding of one of his colleagues, and lemme tell y’all: it was one of the best celebrations I’ve been to in my entire life! Seriously–if I could go to a wedding like this once a week, I’d be there every weekend. The couple and their families were tons of fun, and it was very cool to see how they incorporated traditions from Russia and Italy into a wedding that took place in Germany. Which got me to thinking about American wedding traditions…most of ours are borrowed from other cultures, which makes sense for a nation of immigrants. The only purely American tradition I could think of was jumping the broom. But, as is often the case, I found far more similarities than I did differences–lots of dancing, lots of food, lots of laughter. Lots of love.

look like lots of fun
Thanks, shawty.
The grandfather was crunk!
I mean he is 81 and he moved way more than me!
He moved way more than both of us!
I love your dress…the wedding was awesome. It looks like it was a blast!!
Thank you! Girl–it was SO fun! If you EVER have a chance to go to an Italian wedding, do it!
