in pictures: a wedding!

A few weeks ago, The Man and I attended the wedding of one of his colleagues, and lemme tell y’all: it was one of the best celebrations I’ve been to in my entire life! Seriously–if I could go to a wedding like this once a week, I’d be there every weekend. The couple and their families were tons of fun, and it was very cool to see how they incorporated traditions from Russia and Italy into a wedding that took place in Germany. Which got me to thinking about American wedding traditions…most of ours are borrowed from other cultures, which makes sense for a nation of immigrants. The only purely American tradition I could think of was jumping the broom. But, as is often the case, I found far more similarities than I did differences–lots of dancing, lots of food, lots of laughter. Lots of love.

A lovely, fun couple.

Another happy couple (hee hee!).

Good food…

…and good company!

The bride’s father tosted “Nastarovje!” at our table.

Shoutout to our gorgeous designated driver!

Party time! This fella was CRUNK!

But the life of the party was the groom’s grandfather! Best dancer in there.

Ending the night with sore feet from too much dancing is never a bad thing.
